Flash had been noticing he was being stalked by two kids
Especially if the kids is uno reverse Bruce Wayne bait.
These two kids literally stopped him from running back through the time 13th times in a roll by doing something distracting that completely took his attention alongside this them saving the day before Flash went back to fix it.
Scary accurate, too, after the last time he was tackled and manhandled by a giant glowing green dog when the kids play hot potato and threw a purple dog toy at him saying fetch cujo.
This little brats has some type of vendetta over him that they keeps stopping him from time running.
The 'We will break your kneecaps' on the watchtower in glowing green marker is new to him.. in the middle of a meeting with the Justice league.
You know, for the fastest man in the world, he didn't expect to get stalked and unabled to catch the stalkers even at last speed 13 times in a roll.
Especially with a group of heroes and Batman staring down at Flash for him to explain what had happened.
That two little kids were stalking the fastest man in the world to stop him from running sounds ridiculous, but it was true that even his team investigating can't seem to find anything or nothing on the database about this two children.
As if they didn't exist in the first place...
....
....
....
....
All danny wanted to do was go home after a lesson about being the Infinite Prince and its duty from Clockwork, but yet he couldn't seem to find the home portal, not even Vlad’s was opened which was very odd.
He did catch Ellie zooming around the ghost realm, who was panicking as well about the missing portals, but thankfully, Johnny and Kitty helped them find a natural portal to their home dimension.. Danny is going to have a stern talking with them about that later, but right now, he wanted to go home now.
Only.. there was no home to go to because Amity Park had disappeared.
If it weren't for Clockwork's sticky notes all over a stump trunk that used to be Amity Park's welcome sign that saved Danny from having a total meltdown and psychic break in his core with how small he and ellie became slipping out of the natural portal.
Apparently, some Jackass Time Speeder changed the timeline too many times in which Amity Park, the world greatest ghost town, ceased to existence.
Thankfully, Clockwork left them a little gift that were time watches to help located the dirty bastard that basically ruined Danny's timeline in exchange of punishment for all the timelines clockwork had to fix due to this man.
Danny and Ellie would gladly accept beating up this wannabe timeline ruining bastard, and they'll be creative at it, too.

Pt2Danny Accidentally becomes the Ghost king, the president and the biggest threat to Bruce's social status.
Pt 1 link:
Part 2 Danny becomes the president.
Amity Parkers are the most adaptable people in the world. They're barely fazed by anything.
If you throw them into a situation that they are very unfamiliar with, it'll only take them five minutes to adjust before they start planning on how to live with this situation.
The Amity Parker mindset is: "Oh, I guess this is happening now."
So when the ghosts start attacking? The Amity Parkers immediately look for ways to avoid and protect themselves from the ghosts, not even questioning why ghosts are real. The only thing they think about is, "Damn, there's a ghost. I hope it doesn't attack the theater; I really want to see that movie."
When Phantom had his debut as a hero? The Amity Parkers started looking for ways to help, ways to keep out of his way (some to try and keep him away). The thought running through their minds was, "So this one is trying to protect us? Guess we have a hero now."
Amity Parkers don't spend their time getting mad at the sudden change of routine, the sudden loss of normalcy, or the broken buildings. Amity Parkers don't ask why and how ghosts are real, don't question if all ghosts are evil or if there are some good ghosts, and don't even think of how to get rid of them completely (they're part of the community now). They only look for ways to keep themselves from getting overshadowed. They definitely don't spend time thinking if the ghosts could bring more danger in the future or looking for more information for possible contingency plans. They aren't Batman; they believe that if the present is good, then the future will be better.
Point is, Amity Parkers are resilient and adaptable. They will take everything in stride and focus on the present. So what if some ghosts attack and block the street? They need to get to work, so they'll just drive around it.
After the whole Pariah Dark thing, they become liminal, gaining some form of super strength and glowing eyes (symptoms vary based on how strong the radiation on a person is). A normal human would think, "OH MY GOD, I'M DYING!" The Amity Parkers went, "Oh, cool, this is cool, but now I'm having a problem with opening doors without breaking the knob. Maybe the Fentons could do something about it, make stronger knobs or something."
When some babies started gaining some inhuman features? Some start floating? (Sharper ears, fangs. Babies adapt to things faster, so they get more ecto radiation.) The Amity parents went, "Is there a way to keep my child on the ground without leashing them like a dog?" Then proceeded to make a help blog for other Amity parents dealing with the same things.
So when the ghosts start becoming more of the community rather than enemies, the Amity Parkers just shrugged and asked for a book of ghost customs so they don't accidentally offend them.
When the Fentons started making ghost and human-safe items, no one even questioned why Danny had so much money and was funding his parents' research.
When Danny's name was almost (if not) in everything and he seemed to own most of the town, no one questioned it.
But everything changed when the GIW came again. Even the Amity Parkers weren't expecting this change.
The GIW waltzed in, claiming the liminal town was theirs to play with and started attacking everyone, including the Amity Parkers. The Amity Parkers went full defense mode, protecting the ghosts that were now their friends/neighbors/lovers, making sure that nothing would harm them.
They learned that it was Vlad who called on the GIW. He was pissed and petty that the crown was taken from him and decided to report his liminal town, pretending to be a "concerned mayor" who "wants his people to be healed."
The Amity Parkers were mad... they were furious.
And in the moment they saw Phantom fall to the ground, unconscious, and watched him de-transform from the hero King Phantom to the kid that owns and funds the most helpful companies in town, something changed. Something in the Amity Parkers changed.
Keep in mind that Amity Parkers don't change; they remain the same as they adapt to whatever change the world throws at them.
NEVER ONCE HAD THE AMITY PARKERS DECIDED TO MAKE A CHANGE THEMSELVES.
The first thing they changed? Their mentality. NEVER AGAIN WERE THEY GOING TO LET OUTSIDE FACTORS CHANGE THEIR LIVES. THIS IS THEIR TOWN AND IT WILL STAY THAT WAY.
God help the GIW for being their first victims.
An angry town of liminals, ghosts, and borderline gods, who have access to the Fentons' very destructive and effective technology.
Vs.
The regular GIW humans with anti-ghost tech they stole from the Fentons and nothing against liminals.
The battle was a swift victory, destroying not only the GIW in town but also all of its branches (and Vlad) with almost no traces of them even existing in the first place.
The change didn't stop there, however.
The Amity Parkers banded together with Team Phantom and the Fentons (minus Danny, as he is healing and shouldn't know about their plans; the hero should rest) and took out some of that ghost king money that Danny's trying to get rid of. They crashed the UN meeting while kidnapping the president of America.
The Amity Parkers have decided that Amity Park is theirs; it belongs to the people and its heroes. But how is it supposed to be truly theirs if they have to follow the rules of the country that funded the GIW?
A couple of death threats, bribing, more death threats and more money bribing to make sure the anti ecto acts are gone and the League of Bitches (Phantom called the JL that, and the Amity Parkers decided it was true) doesn't know about it, and a couple of hours in the nightmare realm (courtesy of Fright Knight, who happily participated when he found out what happened), and Amity Park was now its own independent country.
They decided that Tucker was to be a main part of security, letting him put up another firewall like the GIW did to make sure no one knows about their country. They don't want the League of Bitches or any outsider in the King's Haunt. It's theirs now; it belongs to the Ghost King of Amity Park, outsiders be gone.
And when it came to deciding who would be leader? There was no hesitation as they wrote down:
Daniel "Danny Phantom" Fenton, King of the Infinite Realms, King and President of Amity Park.

A couple of years later, Batman, finding hints of a "Lazarus pit" in Illinois, send Flash to look around for anything suspicious. Flash, hyper focused on following his gps, hits a wall, literally faceplants into it.He double checks his map, the wall wasn't supposed to be there. He goes around it, there no way in, no way out. He goes back to batman and reports.
Pt3 soon.

Finally Getting Help (prt. 10)
Mastterpost
A/N: Thank you all for the well wishes about my dog. Unfortunately he didn't make it and pass away Tuesday morning in the vet's office. I was able to get some writing done but I don't have the energy to edit. Let me know if you find any mistakes.
-----
Jason: hey, thanks for the gun and the tech, it's really cool.
Danny: new phone who dis 😝
Jason: I hope you haven't given too many people guns in the last couple days.
Danny: no I haven't, thanks for texting me Jason. Have you got a chance to try the gun?
Jason: not on anything moving, I've been doing some target practice to get a feel for it though. Looking forward to when I can test it on Vlad.
Danny: aww are you going to avenge my honor 🥺
Jason: if you want me too. I'll bring you his head if you want me too.
Danny: 🥰 you're so sweet. I wouldn't say no to seeing him suffer for what he's done but don't get yourself in any trouble okay? And if you do call me right away. I'll come rescue you 😘
Jason: hey I'm the one offering to protect you!
Danny: we can protect each other. And fight each other, can you come spar again soon?
Jason: I wouldn't call that sparring, more like brawling.
Danny: eh potato potato, do you want to come fight me again?
Jason: if demon brat won't kill me for it, sure. Can I take you out for dinner afterwards? I have some questions
Danny: It's a date! Just tell me when
Jason: Day after tomorrow? I have some work to take care of first.
Danny: Sounds great! And it is a date right? You don't mind that I'm going to have kids?
Jason: the kids aren't a deal breaker I promise but let's not jump the gun okay? We're going to be family through B so we don't want this to blow up in our faces. Let's hang out, take it slow, see how it goes. You need to be careful about who you let into your life now anyway, you can't just let anyone around you and the babies.
Danny: don't tell me what to do 😠 but you're right. I'm bad about rushing into things. I'm still looking forward to it.
Danny: By the way Jazz uploaded the power point she made about Liminals and Ghosts to the bat’s server thing. You have access to that right? You should read that before we meet and I can fill in the gaps.
Jason: Sounds good, I’ll have a look at it and I’m looking forward to it too. I'll be there at 5 so we can spar before dinner. Don't forget to warn B and your guard dog.
Danny: Damian is a good kid. I'll let them know.
Danny stared at his new phone Tim had given him with apprehension. The chat with Jason had gone very well, and Danny was glad he reached out but there were other people he really needed to reach out to and he was… frankly scared. Sam and Tucker were his best friends and had always been there for him but they both had tempers. Would they be mad that he hadn’t told them he was pregnant? Would they be upset he had left Amity and wasn’t planning on coming back?
He needed to reach out though, the longer he waited the harder it would be to talk to them, and things wouldn’t stay calm as they were now. Vlad would be back to cause trouble again and even though the JLD had control of the portal but he was sure his rogues would find their way through eventually. Vlad had his own portal anyway, and Danny wouldn’t put it past him to open it just to annoy Danny. Maybe try and weaken him a little so Vlad could swoop in and pick him off.
Today was quiet, he needed to take this chance. He sighed and got up off the edge of his bed where he was sitting and ducked out of his room. He didn’t want to do this alone, so he wasn’t surprised when he found himself in the library where Jazz was studying.
He sat down across from her and reached across, laying his hand, palm up on the table. Without looking up from her book she reached over and placed her hand in his, giving it a gentle squeeze. He smiled at her and took a deep breath before putting on his earbuds and sending a message in the group chat.
Danny: When you guys are ready can we call?
Jazz phone went off too and she checked it, smiled at Danny, and then silenced the chat and went back to her book. She didn’t need to be part of this call but at least she knew what he was doing.
Sam: Yes, let me just grab Tuck. He’s playing Doomed.
Danny took a deep breath and put down his phone while he waited for them to call and tried not to panic.
When the phone buzzed he jumped and reached for it, joining the call quickly.
“Hey guys,” He said, awkwardly, waving with the hand that wasn’t holding the phone.
“Hey yourself! What the heck happened Danny?! Basically the whole town joined in in chasing Vlad when we found out what he did but why did we have to find out on tv?! Why didn’t you tell us?!” Sam said, but at least she just seemed stressed, not actually angry.
“I’m sorry guys,” Danny said, wincing a little when he heard Tucker sniffling a little. “I hadn’t told anyone yet. I hadn’t even fully accepted it yet honestly.
“I still wasn’t ready to talk about it, bur Cass is really good at reading people's body language and I guess she clocked that I was carrying them by how I kept unconsciously touching my stomach. When she asked me about it it sorta broke through my denial and I broke down which started the ball rolling on… all this,” He said with a vague gesture.”
“All this is right! The justice league really brought the hammer down on Amity. They’re dismantling the GIW and really pissed at the government and basically all the adults in the town for letting this happen. And they arrested your parents!” Sam said sounding almost excited.
“Sam! That was really insensitive! They’re still his parents, what if he didn’t know!?” Tucker broke in furiously.
“No it’s alright I knew, Jazz told me. She’s here with me,” He said squeezing her hand though she wasn’t paying attention to the call.
“Okaaay so where is Here?” Tucker asked warily.
“Ya are you safe? We haven’t seen you since all this went down! Are you really with Bruce Wayne?” Sam asked sounding wary.
“Yes I am. He’s got a foster license and since his kids were the one that found out what was going on it just made sense that I’d stay here.”
“And he’s Not another Fruitloop?” Sam asked warily. “You need to be careful with these rich people you know? They’re basically all crazy!”
“Sam you’re rich,” Danny pointed out, amused.
“Ya, and? My point stands!”
“Fair enough,” Danny laughed. “But no, I did some snooping the first night I was here and it seems okay. And since he’s got close ties to the Justice League he was able to get the help we really needed, and he says he might be able to help me meet Martian Manhunter!”
“Don’t fanboy out too bad,” Tucker teased him.
“Oh ya? And what if I helped you meet Tim Drake? Would you not be just as bad,” Danny accused Tucker.
“Touche,” Tucker said. “Could you though?”
“I mean maybe? He’s my foster brother now and he seems cool. You two are my best friends, if I’m going to stay I’m sure you could come visit me and meet all of them.”
“Are you really going to stay there though? I mean once the GIW and everything is cleared out you could stay with either of us. I know my parents aren’t your biggest fans but I know they’d let you stay,” Sam said sounding worried.
“And I know my family doesn't have a ton of money but they adore you, we’d make it work,” Tucker added looking worried.
“No, guys I really appreciate the offer but… I don’t want to come back to Amity. The Justice League said they shut down the portal and I really need a fresh start I think. I think I’d rather stay here. Jazz too, she’s gonna study at Gotham U and intern at Arkham,” He said. She looked up at the mention of her name and gave him a small smile.
“I’m sorry, you guys are my best friends and I’ll miss you, but there are too many… memories in Amity you know?”
“Ya I get that,” Sam said, looking sad and distant.
“We can still call, and play Doomed together, and visit on breaks!” Tucker said, his chipper tone sounding a little forced. “We’re going to say friends!” He insisted and Danny smiled.
“Of course we will Tuck,” He promised. They might grow apart with the distance between them, but he hoped not, they really were his best friends.
“Ya, my parents will probably be thrilled about this development and want me to come over all the time. They love the Waynes,” Sam chuckled though her optimism also seemed a bit forced. Of course she was more of a pessimist, she probably thought they would drift apart, but knew Danny needed them right now.
“Soo what’s been going on in Amity since I left?” Danny asked, letting them ramble about the drama, the rumours, and the bullshit that was the bullies and everyone in the school sudden;y pretending they cared about Danny soooo much.
After they finished telling him about it there were a few beats of silence and Danny was just about to suggest they hang up when Sam spoke up again.
“So, what actually happened with Vlad? If you don’t want to talk about it that’s okay but…”
“No, it’s okay. It’s not what- what you’d think. It’s superhero bullshit really. When I wouldn’t be his son he decided to try and clone me, you met Dani with an I right? She was one of the clones. But he didn’t know I was trans, and my DNA got all fucked up in the portal so none of the clones were stable. I have no idea how many he tried to make that died. But when I found out it was because he had lied to Dani and told her he needed me to stabilize her clone brothers. It was a batch of ten.
“But he lied, he didn’t actually care about stabilizing them, he was going to let them all die. I was only able to save the two that were most stable and only by taking their cores into myself. So I’m not normal pregnant, I’m ghost pregnant.
What is my life huh?” He finished, chuckling awkwardly.
“Oh fuck,” Sam said her shoulders slumping a little even as her expression went through a range of emotions. “That’s better in a way but still a whole different type of fucked up! I hope they catch him soon.”
“I hope so too but I don’t think they will,” Danny said with a shrug. “Not before he tries something else. I’m not lucky enough to be able to just move past this,” He said with a bitter little laugh.
“Well, we can still hope. And even if he does cause trouble you have more allies now! You’ve been able to handle everything else he’s thrown at you basically on your own, with the Justice League behind you I know there’s nothing you can’t handle. I mean, Vlad is kind of pathetic anyway,” Tucker encouraged making Danny smile.
“Ya, you’re right, I’m sure it’ll be fine. Thanks guys,” he said fondly.
“Of course dude! We’re here for you!” Tucker said.
“It’s really good to hear from you too. Don’t be a stranger okay?” Sam said, a bit worried.
“Of course not, I’ll keep you posted I promise.” Danny assured before they said their goodbyes and he hung up.
He put down his phone and leaned back with a sigh, closing his eyes for a moment. Next to him Jazz chuckled and there was a soft snap as she closed her book.
“You did well little brother,” She told him, getting up from her seat she moved behind him and rested her hands on his shoulders.
“How do you know? You weren’t listening.”
“No, but you reached out to your friends and had an honest conversation which isn’t easy. You did well,” She reiterated, squeezing his shoulders.
“Well thanks Jazz. I hope that they’re right that we won’t lose touch, and I’ll be able to handle whatever Vlad does,” He grumbled.
“I’m sure we will,” Jazz promised. “And either way there’s no point in worrying about it now. Has Jason texted you yet?” She asked, giving Danny the excuse he needed to change the subject and launch into his more petty worries about the upcoming date as she sat back down to listen.

An off-shoot to an off-shoot!
Danny left the human world for the Ghost Zone, as the Crown Prince he has quite a lot of responsibilities, much more than he would like in all honesty.
He barely even knew there was a high society of the Ghost Zone, some of which he has met and others he's just questioning the existence of.
He was already tired of the amount of marriage proposals he was sent and had to sort through, and there was still 3 more mountains to go!
He was honestly looking forward to the calls from his two best friends when he was finally able to get a break from his duties as prince. Never has the sound of his friends' voices felt oh so sweet.
Sometimes he visits Sam when he managed to convince Pariah, or when there just wasn't any work to be done. He tried to visit Tucker too but, when he tried to leave Amity Park he just... couldn't???
There was something just, stopping him. He couldn't leave, like some kind of barrier that prevented from moving even smidge past the line.
He just left it be.
He heard about Tucker being a villain and decided he wanted in. But since he couldn't leave the boundary of Amity Park for whatever reason, he needed Tucker to plant a series of tidbits of knowledge that'll allow people to summon him.
Tucker very obviously agreed.
But they decided to have a bit of fun here. Tucker- who now goes by Daedalus as his villain name- has history with the Ghost Prince, who is the 'hero' to Daedalus' villain.
Daedalus does not like Phantom and constantly tries to neutralize him, which is a far cry from his usual non-lethal tactics. While Phantom, on the other hand, considers Daedalus to be his best friend and closest consort and often ignores said attempts of neutralization or plays it off.
So Tucker left behind bits and pieces of the knowledge to summon the Ghost Prince in random parts of the city, which are discreetly yet highly guarded. Then overtime certain people began to find those bits and pieces and Daedalus, in regard to such an event has notably gotten more panicky and worried.
With each and every sighting he's in he seemed to be searching for something and used the chaos he brought to search for it. To which the heroes have been taking notice of.
They think that he was searching for something to use for his next plan or something.
Then the Justice League got word of a group of cultists looking to summon the Ghost Prince to take over the mortal world, which they obviously couldn't let happen. So then they locate and find the group of cultists (and as usual in these ideas) they fail to stop the summoning in time.
But as the summoning circle was shinning and the room got colder, someone unexpected showed up.
Daedalus. (Imagen he's in the floaty chair thing that Eggman uses constantly)
Who, surprisingly. Is just a 16 year old. (This takes place in the second year of Sam's little isolation thing.)
Who then proceeded to get irritated and screamed at the cultists about how they managed to find the necessary components to summon that he specifically split into pieces to avoid this situation happening!
Then the Ghost Prince pops into existence, who then calmly looked around the room and then into the sky, his indifferent, cold expression faded away into a bright beaming expression and then went:
"Daedalus! My best buddy!"
And then had to dodge a blast from said villain. Then they proceeded to have a battle, quite- no, very lethal on Daedalus' part and not so much on the Ghost Prince's part.
It was... reminiscent of a dog and cat, really.
Until in the midst of said fight Phantom exclaimed his woes about the Ghost responsibilities and then Daedalus just kinda, stopped trying to kill him and then made Danny explain what problem he has and then gave him the solution to said problem and goes back to fighting.
The Justice League feels like they should intervene here, but they also don't know if they should.
Said problem was solved by Daedalus getting hungry and proposing to stop the fight to go and eat at a food place he knows that's very good. Phantom agrees, claiming that he hasn't had human food in ages and then they go and eat and forget about the Justice League.
Who then questioned why the Prince of Ghosts and the villain that a few of them has been fighting are literal children.

Fictober23 Prompt: 28 - "I may not get another chance to say this."
Fandom: DPxDC
Rating: T
Warnings: -
A/N: Plays into the Forgotten Twin AU setting. Basically for this: Danny was sent to the Fentons as a mission when he was seven and Damian forgot about it until someone found an old mission report from Danny. Their first meeting didn't go well… But Damian has his reasons wanting Danny to come to Gotham with him that are not all completely selfish. I tried to make this little scene sort of funny with a bit of angst in it.
"So…" Danny floated next to a giant Cujo while 'sitting' cross legged in the air doing his best to suppress the growing grin on his face. "Are you convinced yet?"
He heard an inaudible grumble and laughed doing a little air flip before 'laying' in the air and resting his head in his hands. "I didn't catch that Dami, can you repeat that?"
"Get him off me!"
"Who? Cujo?" The dog licked Danny across his entire head before laying down on and making himself comfortable on his twin brother who grunted and Danny chuckled. "Didn't you say handling a ghost animal won't be any different than handling an actual animals?"
His twin grunted once more but did not say anything else. Danny grinned as he looked away from Damian and Cujo towards the rest his twin hand brought with him to Amity, he hadn't bothered learning their names when Damian had introduced them the first, second, third and fourth time. All in an attempt to convince him, he was surprised that his biological father didn't appear before him as often as Damian did after he told them no.
Red helmet guy, Danny believed his civilian name was something with J, was currently getting chased around the Main Street by Johnny on his motorcycle and Shadow trying to trip the poor guy up. He had heard the guy curse and complain very loudly that he was not happy about his bullets not working.
Another guy in blue who's hero name was something with Wing but his nickname was Dick, a fun fact that funnily enough made his name the easiest to remember, was currently doing a bunch of flips dodging Skulker. He wasn't entirely sure but with the way Skulker was glaring he was pretty sure that the other ghost was now hunting the guy out of annoyance for real instead of just as a favor to Danny.
The third guy Damian had brought with him to Amity, who's hero name was also that of a dinner, was locked in a weird tech battle with Technus. Danny was pretty sure he had heard that guy yell something about upgrading Wayne Tech to the point that Technus would never be able to take control of it. Good luck with that, Danny thought, so far his parents' and with his own ectoplasm infused tech were the only ones that could resist that ghost's control.
"Danyal, this is ridiculous!" Looking toward Cujo again, Danny found that Damian had managed to dig his way out from under him.
"Well you're the one that bet that you could handle some 'silly' ghosts, to convince me to go to Gotham with you. That there wouldn't be a problem if I left Amity Park behind." Danny moved to float before his brother spread his arms out. "Do you see now that I can't just leave? That I have a responsibility here? That I have a perfectly good life here? You didn't care for years that I lived here and now suddenly out of the blue you keep pestering me to come with you to Gotham."
Danny heard something muffled but he hadn't been able to make out what exactly his twin had said. Instead of asking he slowly floated down until his feet touched the ground and then proceeded to sit with his knees drawn in so that his head could rest on them on the ground. His head was slightly tilted as he watched his twin blankly, the same way grandfather had him do when he had been way younger.
Danny knew this was a habit left over from the League, something Jazz wouldn't have been able to help him get rid off without Damian around.
Damian was obviously struggling, trying to push that giant ghost dog off him so he could have a proper talk with his twin, muttering how a 'ghost' dog could be this heavy or solid. Yet even if Damian was late, there were things he needed to explain. Things he needed Danny to know, things he had only learned after he had started living with father, after he had left the League for good. Even if he didn't deserve his twin's forgiveness, he finally could be the brother his twin deserved. Besides he had made a promise to his twin's sister on his second visit, when Jasmine had been the one to sit him down and talk when Danyal refused. She tried to figure out why Damian had appeared so obsessed about taking Danny with him to Gotham and in the end she had made him promise something for Danyals health.
"I may not get another chance to say this. With you pinned under Cujo and your siblings distracted by my rogues this might be my only chance for now. I was convinced I hated you yet was loyal to a default until Jazz thought me I actually didn't hate you but cared in a messed up way." Danny started watching how his twin stilled. "It took Jazz exactly one year to mostly undo the mindset the league trained into me, she shouldn't have to but she wanted to for her new little brother and took all the steps needed to ensure my mental well being when she was nine and I seven. After that year I was sorta lost. A limbo between wanting a normal life and the duty that had been trained into me towards you. I didn't know what to do and then Tucker picked up the slack, showing me what 'normal' was. Well after I sort of went feral on Dash during my first day in grade school."
Damian looked up at his twin who wasn't even looking at him but sported a far away look. Seeing but unseeing at the same time as he remembered a childhood he knew nothing about. "I kept sending reports, not out of duty but hoping to protect the live Jazz had offered me. When they stopped responding, I also stopped reporting and grew wary."
Laughing humorlessly Danny returned his gaze back on Damian. "At first I believed grandfather gave up on me. That he would send you to kill me. After all, I was just a disposable spare. But no one ever came."
"Me appearing after years must have been shocking." Damian admitted, by now he had given up trying to get that giant dog to move off him, less he embarrassed himself like his elder brothers were currently doing. "That was why you attacked without waiting to hear me out once we were in a secluded area during our first meeting."
"Can't blame me. I thought you were still with the League and brainwashed into the perfect hire grandfather wanted." Damian huffed at that causing Danny to chuckle lightheartedly.
"Valid reasoning." His twin agreed. The half ghost signaled to Cujo, the dog only tilting his head before licking his tongue over the entirety of Danny's head once more, not moving an inch off of Damian. "I would most likely have done the same if the roles had been reversed."
"I got a family here now, Damian and you got yours with our bio-Dad and all the siblings you have been trying to introduce to me." Danny voiced after a moment of silence between them. In that moment Cujo finally changed size and moved to cuddle up to his twin, giving Damian a chance to sit up on his own.
"Danyal."
"No Damian. I will not go with you to Gotham. You tried to show me that others could take care of Amity. But look at those you took with you? They don't even have the equipment needed to handle ghosts." Danny was looking over his shoulder watching Damian's brothers. "Amity Park is my responsibility, the same way Gotham is Batmans."
"It is a responsibility you shouldn't shoulder alone. Father has us in Gotham but who do you have?" Damian watched his twin from the corner of his eyes. "It would be better and safer for you to come with us."
"Damian, I can't just-"
"Jasmine has made me aware of the danger to your physical as well as mental health here the longer you stay. She has inquired with us to see if we could help you to start thinking more about your safety than the safety of everyone around you but yourself."
"Of course Jazz would. Look I can handle my parents and the GIW, it's not like-"
"She has stressed the fact that you have been returning injured more often. Injuries not caused by your ghost rogues." Damian cut him off. "You are a lot more like father than I am but there is one fact we both clearly have inherited from him in the same way?"
"Oh, really now?"
"We are both quite stubborn and won't give up easily." Damian smirked as he stood up and dusted off his pants. He took a couple steps forward towards his elder siblings before turning to look back at his twin. "I believe the bet was that if we could prove to you that other hero's could also handle these ghosts that you would reconsider your stance on coming to Gotham with us?"
"Wha-?"
"IT WORKED! He's in my mini computer! I trapped him in my mini computer!"
"HA! Not so fun getting chased by your own bike, is it?"
"Oh come on dude, this isn't that much of a tied situation. I just roped your own weapon around you. No need to be so headless."
Danny blinked slightly unbelieving, Johnny and Shadow where now the once getting chased around, Technus was apparently stuck in one single little computer and Skulker was tied up with one of his own weapons, aktual Skulker not the hulk of his mech suit.
"Danyal. I… We want to make it up to you. For all the years of mistreatment during our childhood as well as forgetting about your existence for nearly half a decade. All I am asking is to give father and me a chance. According to your sister, your foster parents as well as this GIW organization are posing a threat to you. My siblings are just as capable as father and I, so allow us to help your situation… please."
Once again Danny was blinking in disbelief, this time though he was blinking at his twin he hadn't seen in years, he had sort of resented at first but came to sort of love and miss him through Jazz's constant help and deprogrammed in his childhood.
"Wow… you must have swallowed a lot of your pride to say that." Danny couldn't help but mutter. None of his twin's behavior matched what he remembers from his childhood with the League but maybe it was better this way. What did Jazz tell him a couple days ago? To give it a fresh and new start? To at least listen to them?
"Danyal, if you speak one word of what I told you to any of them, I will kill you."
"And there is the Dami, I remember."
Damian clicked his tongue and Danny laughed as he finally stood up with Cujo in his arms to stand next to his twin.

Hii!
You've been reblogging posts about Danny Phantom lately and it made me interested in reading fics about it :D Do you have any recommendations? Thank you!
Hello! just to start out, here's the list of my previous DP rec lists, but some of them are more into fandom lore than others. This post is me trying to put together some of the more classic fics I can think of, that spawned tropes and headcanons of their own. Also, the phandom is... a bit more gorey than you'd expect going into it, so mind all of the tags. Hope you enjoy!
-
No One Knows AU by DarkNymfa
Not for the first time, Danny cursed himself for never telling anyone about his extra-curricular activities. And now, far more injured than he could fix himself, Danny desperately wished that he had told just one person.
An AU in which, instead of having his friends Tucker and Sam to support him, Danny has to deal with Being A Ghost all by himself.
-
Something's Wrong with Danny Fenton by Ghostly_Cabbage
Danny Fenton. The enigma of Casper High. It's the first day of the winter semester when she notices him. She notices him for what feels like the first time. Maybe because at this point he's the only alternative kid other than her.
Or maybe because boom, there he is: the locker next to hers.
A No One Knows AU where Danny transfers from a different school to Casper during Junior year and ends up befriending Sam and Tucker. Written for Invisobang 2021!
Another Nobody Knows AU
-
Corpse AU by DarkNymfa
In the stress of the events that followed the Accident, as Danny struggled to control his new-found ghost powers and as ghosts started attacking Amity Park, the trio completely forgot about the body that they had buried in the woods.
Until someone found it.
Another one that was (according to Ao3 timestamps) started by DarkNymfa! What if, every time Danny turned into a ghost, he left a dead body lying around?
-
Dead, Not Mourned by Sergeant_Tears
Danny Phantom is caught off-guard by the press and ends up saying a few things that he didn't mean to say. Whoopsies. At least the town is sorta being nicer to him, right?
-
Exhumed by Marsalias
Agreeing to an interview with the detectives is probably a bad idea.
He's still going to do it, though.
Another early, fan favorite corpse AU series
-
Morge by lexosaurus
It was a beautiful day outside. The birds were singing, the flowers were blooming...a corpse was found in the woods.
Or, Amity Park's local cadaver dog trainer was walking her dog in the woods when they discovered a little surprise waiting for them six feet under.
another corpse AU!
-
a home for charon by kkachis
Now all he feels is anticipation for impending relief. He’s so close. She needs to come home with him. She needs to rest. The Other Side is eternally patient, but eternally yearning. This, Danny knows better than any other.
Psychopomp Danny AU!
-
omnis immunde spiritus by aloneintherain
Danny’s eyes were fixed on the locker, never-moving, as though he could see straight through the wall and over to the other side. For a split second, Kwan could have even sworn that Danny’s eyes shone silver, like the eyes of a deer, glowing under headlights.
What the fuck, he thought.
-
Would You Like Some Bullets With That, Sir? by GothMoth
Vlad would absolutely have a few people who want him extra dead and maybe one or two actually willing to try. Too bad that doesn’t really work when the guy’s already half-dead. In fact, it does pretty well nothing other than provide mild amusement. Danny gets more of a kick out of it than the billionaire does though.
-
Mortified by Marsaliais
Danny had actually been looking forward to Casper High's ghost safety assembly, but, between a ghost attack and his parents' newest weapon, things go wrong very quickly. Now Danny will have to fight not only ghosts and hunters but his own instincts to get everyone back home safely. If at all.
it is (as I have been told) an absolute classic but uh. to be absolutely clear i still havent read it because it's very long. I've heard it's really good though lol.
-
And He Was Dead by uaigneach
They didn’t talk about it.
Regardless of their opinion on him, no one talked about how young Phantom was, how he was dressed in a hazmat suit like some sort of lab rat. They didn’t want to think about the one time anyone gained a peak under his suit, they saw a patchwork of scars and bruises.
They didn’t want to think about the one time parents were mentioned in his presence, he flinched. They didn’t want to think about how Phantom died.
(AKA everyone in town has a theory of how Phantom came to be. It isn’t pleasant.)
-
Some big tropes that I know of in the Phandom but couldn't find/didn't remember a core fic spawning are the Ghost Core AU (specifically ice core and dual core ideas), Ghost King AU, Wes Weston like, as a concept (my love), Ghost Hunger AU, and definitely a dozen more I can't remember off the top of my head. If anyone wants to add fics in the notes, either their faves or to remind me of an AU i forgot, I'd love to see it!

So, I assume cores are like a ghosts version of autistic special interests, and assumedly not everyone becomes a ghost?
But what if Jack does, his core could be ghosts itself, and is one of the strongest fresh ghosts to be out there, one worthy of rivalling king Danny.
Oo! I like this. I haven't gotten too far into any world building, but let's see if we can do this some justice. I haven't ever written Jack, so this might be absolutely horrible. Also, most of my knowledge is purely fanon or what I made up on the fly.
Idk if this is what you wanted, but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless. <2
Jack Fenton had always loved ghosts. His parents read him ghost stories and myths and legends when he was growing up, his sister was very into the dark and macabre, and his brother even took him ghost hunting a few times!
Yes, the Nightingale family had been witch hunters, but an interest change came with the name change. It was a package deal, really. One that know one really registered until much later down the line.
At the end of his senior year, Jack meet Madeline. If you asked her, it was love at first sight. If you asked him, it was love at first fight.
Maddie, as she liked to be called, had been raised by her grandmother. The woman taught Maddie everything she knows about the supernatural, claiming to be a medium. No one ever believed her.
Jack had a friend throughout high school named Vlad. Vlad was, in every sense of the word, paranoid. He had measures against everything supernatural, metaphysical, real, ect. If you could think of it, he probably had something to counter it.
The three made quite the team in college. Maddie and Jack had applied to the same colleges, only going to the one that accepted them both. Vlad followed after them, saying that he didn't trust Jack to leave him on his own.
"Ridiculous!" Jack had whispered to Maddie, "He just doesn't like being alone."
Ghosts were the common interest between the three, having grow up around some kind of exposure, so when someone offhandedly mentions a theoretical way that a living being could enter the Realm of the Dead, well, they had to see if it was actually possible.
Which leads them to nearly twenty-three years later. Their research had gotten Vlad hospitalized, so he wasn't there to share in the success, but that hadn't stopped Jack and Maddie. They'd worked for years to build a portal into the Afterlife for the opportunity to study a real life ghost.
Their research, of course, had been shunned in many occult circles, but that's okay. Those guys were all quacks and crazies anyway. Who needs their approval?
Ghosts were the emotions of a formerly living being that had imprinted themselves on ectoplasm. The proof? There was a ghost attack on their college during their junior year. Everyone thought they had staged it because no one saw the ghost, but Jack, Maddie, and Vlad knew. They had gathered the small bit of glowing green goo to study it.
That glowing green goo had been what had powered up the portal when they got it build. They used it like a battery.
So why hadn't it worked?
Well, it worked eventually, but why had it taken nearly four hours after the initial activation of the portal?
Regardless, they had been right and now Amity Park was full of proof to prove themselves to everyone that had ever laughed at them! If only Vlad could've shared in the glorious moment. He's not dead! They just...lost contact shortly after Danny was born.
Jumping forward almost two decades, Jack and Maddie were sat down by their children, Jasmine and Danny. Apparently, Danny had been the one to activate the portal by dying. It was...a lot to process, but they were happy he had come to them, even if it had taken two years.
It made them rethink a lot of their thoughts over the years. But, you can't really teach an old dog new tricks, no matter how much you explain and demonstrate it.
They didn't hurt Danny! God, no. They'd already done that enough.
No, Jack and Maddie redoubled their efforts to study ghosts with the added intention of understanding them.
Everyone in Amity Park know that there's at least a 90% chance they'll become a ghost when they die. That is quickly lowered to a 50% chance when the understanding that intent matters in all situations, even death. Those who want to rest won't come back as a ghost. Those who have something to finish or do have a bigger chance of coming back. Maybe not with all their memories, but they might.
Maddie, when she died of a combination of radiation - because ectoplasm is barely radioactive, but consistent exposure for most of her life doomed her - and old age, wanted to rest. She had done enough in her life, so she was ready to leave it behind.
Jack, when he died of the same combination with the addition of pneumonia, wanted to be with Maddie. But he also wanted to finally finish what he and Maddie and Vlad had started all those years ago.
Upon his death, Jack remembered a conversation he'd had shortly after Danny had come clean about being Phantom.
"Dann-o?" Jack had asked one morning.
"Hey, dad," Danny had tried to smile, but he seemed so tired. He was always tired. Had he always been this tired? Was this a new thing? Jack was horrified that he didn't know.
Jack had sat down next to his son on the couch, not too close as to be imposing, but close enough to be comforting. "What's wrong?"
Danny took a very long time to answer, words seeming to fall apart in his mouth. "Are you and mom going to keep trying to capture ghosts?"
Jack blinked. Why wouldn't they? There was still so much to know! So many theories to prove or disprove! So much locked potential that no one was ever going to look into again simply because no one else thought it possible!
"I mean-" Danny scrunched his nose in thought, trying to piece the words together in a way that someone who couldn't read his thoughts or be in his head could understand. "You and mom have worked to study ghosts for basically your whole lives. But, now that you know I am one, are you going to stop? Like, are you going to stop hunting them - us - down? Are you guys going to keep trying to hurt us?"
Oh. Oh. He's- Danny, he's- he's worried that they'll hurt him? "Oh, Danny," he said, "It was never our intention to hurt you."
"But-!"
"But we can't just drop everything. We've been doing this our whole lives almost, like you said. What are we supposed to do if we stop it all?"
Danny didn't say anything. In fact, he looked devastated. Why..?
Oh. Oh.
"It's not like that!" Jack was quick to say, "We're-we're not going to hunt ghosts any longer. If anything, we'll probably just want to ask some questions? I don't really know. I'll have to talk to your mom about it some more, but- We don't want to hurt you, Danny. It was never our intention."
Danny had been very quiet and a bit distant for the rest of the week after that. Unless, he'd always been like that? But he opened back up a little while later.
Jack and Maddie had never really completed their research on ghosts, so it's no surprise that one of them would come back as the thing they spent their lives after. But now came the question of what Ghost!Jack's obsession is.
It's usually seen as insensitive to ask a ghost what their Obsession is. But, if you know what their Obsession is, most are beyond thrilled to share it with you, basically info dumping everything they know about the subject, sharing related items, and learning more with you. It's a fun experience for all involved, especially if two or more ghosts have the same or similar enough Obsessions.
Really, it shouldn't have been a surprise that Jack Fenton's Obsession was Ghosts, considering his life.
Once that was a widely known fact, though, some began to wonder what his core and powers would be. Aside from, of course, the basic power set that all ghosts get when they become a ghost.
Cores and powers go hand in hand with a ghost's Obsession. Sometimes they amplify one another, sometimes they compliment one another. Very rarely are they the same thing.
For example, King Phantom's core is ice, his Obsession is protection, and his powers relating to that of ice, mostly offensive and defensive focuses. Ember's core is fire, her Obsession music, and her powers are similar to those of the sirens of myths.
You get the idea.
Then again, the Fenton Family has never been normal, has it? Not even as far back as when they were the Nightingale Family.
King Phantom had figured out one day what his father's powers were, and, consequently, his strength. It was an accident, really! They hadn't seen each other in a while, and Jack's hugs were already monstrously strong before he'd become a ghost-
Who knew that ghosts could get shattered spines?
Jack Fenton, upon becoming the very thing he'd spend his life dedicated to, gained the ability to copy another ghost's power via manipulation of his core.
While most ghosts' cores were a single solid substance like ice or fire or shadows, Jack's core was ectoplasm. Able to change and adapt to his needs, not set in any one way.
Phantom was beyond glad his father, who became known as The Professor, was on his side.

Day 4: Wander
Dani stepped through the portal and looked around. She wasn’t quite sure where she was, and the signs were written in a language she didn’t know, but that was fine. She was here to explore after all.
Transforming back to human she called into the portal, “Here boy!” and with a bark a lively green puppy jumped out and landed in her arms.
“Okay, okay, I know you’re excited Cujo!” she laughed as the ghost dog licked her face. While she hadn’t had her traveling partner long, she already loved the companionship the cute puppy gave. Danny had been insistent that she have someone to keep her safe the last time she saw him, and she couldn’t agree more with him that Cujo was that perfect someone.
“Alright boy, you know the drill.” Dani said as she put the dog down and opened her backpack. Yipping happily Cujo dove into the space and snuggled in with the clothes inside, effectively hiding him from the public.
Dani shrugged the bag back onto her shoulders and set off down the street knowing that Cujo would keep an ear out for any trouble she might find.
The city she had found herself in was awash with sounds and vibrant colors, and based on what she knew of the world Dani thought she may be somewhere in Eastern Asia. She had been so clueless when she started traveling thanks to Vlad. He hadn’t thought it necessary to teach her anything beyond the basics to survive since he wasn’t planning on letting her live all that long in the first place. That’s why she wanted to explore so badly, to see the world and learn what she could about it, or at least that’s what she told Danny.
She did want to know more about the world, and she did like exploring, but there was something else to it too. Before she had left Amity Park the first time, Danny had explained everything he knew about being a halfa to her. He told her about her core, different powers she might develop, and obsessions. When he had described what obsessions meant, she hadn’t fully understood right away. It was only a few months after she had left that she truly understood what it meant to have a ghostly obsession.
While Danny’s obsession was to help those in need, Dani was different. His obsession stemmed from his Accident in the portal, stemmed from hearing his friends calling out to him in fear. Hers came from her birth.
Being raised for a few months in Vlad’s basement laboratory was no life. At least, she could look back on that now and realize it. He had never let her leave the basement until her mission to retrieve Danny to make her the “perfect clone”. There hadn’t even been a window, just a room full of wires, tubes, and a portal. There she had witnessed countless attempts at cloning fail, each one melting in a puddle of goo before her eyes, and she was helpless to do anything but be at Vlad’s side. She had been so unquestioningly loyal to him out of hope that he would not let her destabilize and melt, that he would let her see the world outside that basement, but it had all been a lie.
So her obsession became freedom. Freedom to go where she wanted, do what she wanted, and be who she wanted to be. She wouldn’t ever be tied down by Vlad’s desires ever again, a mold for the perfect child he wanted. So Dani needed to find out who she was instead, and she had! She found that she loved learning about other cultures, other languages. She found a fascination with the night sky and stargazing that connected her with Danny, and a heavy appreciation for chocolate. Dani had learned so much about herself, and in the year since first leaving to explore she finally felt complete.
Dani stopped next to a market stall, fingers tapping the strap of her backpack and thinking of where she might find her next portal to somewhere new. She never stayed in any one place too long, just in case someone caught on to her intangibly grabbing food and clothes when she was able.
She tended to avoid Amity Park though. Danny had met up with her a few times since her near destabilization, but always in the Infinite Realms. Each time they met, he offered to let her stay with him in Amity Park. He offered to tell his parents his halfa secret so she could stay in their home, to introduce her and get his parents to take her in properly as his sister. Danny was willing to risk his safety, his secret identity in order to give her a home, but Dani was scared.
She was so afraid that in settling down back in Amity Park she would be trapped again, forced to be what a parent wanted her to be. Some part of her knew that it wouldn’t happen, that the Fentons weren’t like Vlad, but still that fear lingered.
A short yip coming from her backpack shook her from her thoughts, and Dani gave a small smile. “I know Cujo, I’m ok.” and she was. She knew someday she might return to Amity Park, to be a part of a family, but for now the world awaited her.
As Dani walked away from the stall, she thought back to something Danny had said to her the last time they had met.
“You can wander as far and as long as you need to Dani. When you're ready, a home will be waiting for you.”

Cuddle Couch
Summary:
Valerie just wanted to buy a new couch to replace the one Cujo tore to shreds. She didn’t know babysitting her boyfriend in a furniture store would prove so difficult.
Word count: 4418 || AO3 Link
Silly Gray Ghost for Shiptember prompt: Dumbass x The Only Braincell! :]
--
Valerie’s life was going great.
No, really, for once it actually was. Or at least as great as a college student who’s barely getting by can have it.
She decided to go to a small college in the next town over from Amity Park. To be close by in case of a more hostile ghost attack, even though most of the dangerous attacks stopped after Danny became the Ghost King. Something about the ghosts being scared of causing trouble in the king’s liar.
The few regulars who still liked to show their faces around the town got handled by the Fentons, who got way better and more humane at ghost hunting ever since they found out their son has been the ghost boy all this time. It took them a while to get used to that, and Valerie honestly couldn’t blame them. She herself had to come to terms with the fact that she was hunting down her high school crush for two years.
Now they were both twenty and dating for a good four years. Since the ghost attacks declined, Danny decided to join her in college. They trusted that the Fentons would call them if a bigger threat showed up in town, so they rented an apartment together near the campus and lived a mostly peaceful college life with their ghost dog, Cujo.
A ghost dog, who lately got very interested in finding out what their couch tasted like. She absolutely blamed Danny for that. He always used the cushions when play-fighting with Cujo, either as punching bags or shields against Cujo’s jump attacks. There were already many teeth marks and rips in the cushions, and it was only a matter of time before the dog got interested in consuming the entire couch too. His eventual success in this endeavor led to the problem that Valerie had to face right now.
“Val, look! They have the meatballs! Like in the memes! We need to get them!”
She and Danny were currently entering an IkeaTM, in search of a replacement couch for the one that Cujo tore to shreds.
She sighed internally looking over to her excited boyfriend. Sometimes it really felt like she had two puppies to take care of instead of one. His eyes were shining with excitement –literally, there was that ectoplasmic shine to them whenever he got too hyped up about something– and she was sure that had he been in ghost form right now, his spectral tail would be swaying uncontrollably, seemingly wagging.
He was pulling at their connected hands, half dragging her to the meatball stand. Valerie shook her head, trying hard to force down the smile creeping up onto her face.
“We can get some meatballs after we find a couch, okay?” She told him, turning his attention towards the furniture part of the store instead. “But only if you behave.”
“What? I always behave.”
She gave him a pointed look.
“Okay, I usually behave. But can you blame me?” He let go of her hand to stand in front of her and gesture around them dramatically. “It’s a furniture store, Val. Furniture stores are exciting!”
“Yeah, when you’re like eight years old, not twenty. Don’t act like you’ve never been to one before.” She said, shoving him in the direction of the living room areas of the store. As they walked Danny kept observing everything like it was the first time he’s seen things like a wooden desk.
“I might’ve as well been eight last time I was in one, okay?” he explained, his hand reaching out to touch one of the desks, but Valerie quickly caught it in hers and steered him back in the direction they were going in. “My dad got us banned from every furniture store in the 50 mile radius of Amity Park. Apparently the Ikea furniture isn’t ectoplasm resistant enough for him.”
Valerie stopped in her tracks, turning to look at him sternly.
“Please tell me you are not banned in this store.”
He shrugged in response.
Great.
She resisted the urge to groan and instead turned back around to continue walking. If the Ancients were on her side today, no one would realize this supposed-to-be-adult was the child of Jack Fenton. She just prayed he wouldn’t do anything stupid enough to get a ban of his own (which would probably result in her getting banned along with him).
She loved Danny very much, but he really took after his father a lot. And he could be such a child sometimes too.
“Hey, hey, hey Val.” Danny said from behind her. She turned back again to see him standing by a big wooden closet, holding the door open. “Watch me hide in here and scare the next old guy who walks by.”
Case in point. She glared at him unamused. “Danny no.”
“Okay, then we can both hide in the closet, but you can’t blame me for what happens next.” He sent her a wink combined with the worst Flynn Rider impression she has ever seen.
She slapped him.
“Ow, what was that for?” He whined dramatically. “You know I’m joking!”
Valerie glared at him for a while longer, before sighing and dragging a hand down her face. “Can we just focus on getting the couch, please? I still have math homework to do for tomorrow.”
She continued their walk through the bedroom areas. The living rooms were finally in her sight now and Oh Ancients there were so many. She heard Danny following right behind her. “Val, you have intro math, that takes like…literally no time.”
“Yeah, maybe for you asshat. You don’t get a say in this, you didn’t get the shit teacher this year.” She made a point of not looking at him this time. The arguing would only slow them down. They could multitask arguing and getting a couch.
“Awh, but Ms. Rekdal lets you guys cheat.” Of course, Danny decided that no eye-contact would not do and caught up to her so they could walk side by side, literally forcing himself in her view. “Didn’t she already post the answers or something? Just copy those.”
And fine, maybe he was right. Her stupid math teacher decided it was a great idea to share full answers to their assignments three days before the deadline, which meant that the majority of her classmates most likely did copy them. Heck, when Danny had classes with Ms. Rekdal last year, he didn’t even look at the assignments before the answers were posted. But he actually understood math. She couldn’t do that, she was too responsible for this. “I need to do it myself, or else I won’t understand the material and will inevitably fail the exam.”
As she explained that to him they finally reached some living room spaces. There were a lot of different couches there that immediately stole all her attention. Looking closer at the information on one called VIMLE, she almost didn’t hear what Danny said next.
“I can always overshadow you and write your exam for you.”
She whipped around from the VIMLE to yell at him. “COUCH, DANNY.”
“Right, right, okay. Couch.” he raised his hands in a sign of surrender and actually started scanning the furniture with her.
Valerie huffed and went back to checking out the couch she was looking at. It was a sectional with three seats, one of which was designed for lounging. Some sort of smooth black material which was surprisingly soft to the touch covered the cushions. She braced herself before looking at the price and… yep, one thousand and nine hundred dollars. That would not do.
She noted the prices on the other couches surrounding her. A soft gray three seater with a bunch of cute pillows. One thousand seven hundred and fifty dollars. Another sectional, this one in cream white colors and material that looked rougher than the cheapest kind of toilet paper. One thousand six hundred and forty-nine dollars. A two seater in faux brown leather that was so shiny Valerie was sure if she sat on it her butt would slide right off. One thousand seven hundred and ninety-nine dollars.
Why the hell were couches so expensive? Finding an affordable one was going to be so much harder than she had first assumed.
Between her and Danny, they didn’t really have much money. She worked a part time job at a little corner cafe right beside campus, and while it was way nicer and more cozy than her previous job at the Nasty Burger, it barely paid any better. Danny helped out with his parents’ business, which definitely bloomed after ghosts proved to be real. With his ghostly expertise, he was very good at assisting in their research or helping develop some new inventions and they made sure to pay him accordingly.
Unfortunately, all of this income combined with both of their student loans was still only barely enough to get by. They could afford some cool stuff from time to time, but a couch worth seventeen hundred dollars was way too big of an expense to spend at once.
“Hey Val, check this out.” Danny’s voice brought her out of her musings. She turned her gaze in his direction where he stood over a couch, which was similar to the first one she looked at. The only difference was the stiffer material and the fact that it was blue. “This one is called an ektorp.”
She made sure to give him the most unamused expression. “And?”
He sent her a broad grin back. “That reads like ecto RP. I think we should get an ecto roleplay, Val, we’re really good at those.”
“Do you want me to slap you again?”
Could someone please remind her why she loved this idiot? It was hard to remember sometimes.
Clearly Danny was going to be of no help. Valerie looked around and spotted an IkeaTM worker, who was clicking away on a computer at a desk station close by. Bingo.
To make sure she didn’t lose Danny, she took his hand in hers once more, her fingers briefly brushing over the silly bracelet he always wore. The one she made him when they were younger. She had a matching one at home, made by him. It fell apart earlier today – as it tended to do from time to time, Danny wasn’t the best at handcrafts –but he promised to fix it again when they got back from the store.
A fond smile found its way on her face and she had to force it down as she dragged Danny to approach the man behind the desk. Couch first, feelings of fondness later. She needed to focus. “Uh… excuse me?”
The man raised his head at the sound of her voice. Valerie noted that his nametag read Adam. “How can I help you?” he asked, clearly using his customer service voice.
“My partner and I are looking for an affordable couch for our apartment, uh… Do you have anything…” she motioned to the couches behind them “cheaper?”
“My wife apparently isn’t fond of the ecto-stuff.” Danny added in a fake serious tone, barely holding back a giggle and Valerie had to step on his foot to shut him up. He barely reacted though.
“Ah, a newly wed couple!” Adam exclaimed, clapping his hands together excitedly. The previous customer service tone gone in lieu of real emotions. Before Valerie could correct him or Danny could make another stupid remark, Adam started rapidly typing something out on the computer. “We have a few models that might interest you! Some ASARUM, KLIPPAN or LYCKSELE LÖVÅS!”
As Adam continued listing what appeared to be some couch names, Danny leaned in to whisper in Valerie’s ear. “Is that guy possessed or is that just swedish? I really can’t tell.”
Valerie glared at him, but he just grinned back, clearly proud of his stupid joke.
“We also have some LINANÄS alternatives.” Adam continued unbothered.
Danny’s eyes lit up and he couldn’t hold back the giggle this time as he once more leaned in to whisper to her. “Val, did you hear? They have Lil Nas X.”
Valerie stepped on his foot again. Harder than previously. A little wince actually crossed his face this time.
“If you follow me I can show you some of those cheaper options?” Adam asked, clearly oblivious to the shit Danny’s been telling her.
“Yes, that would be lovely, thank you.” Valerie said. As Adam started leading the way, she sent a quick glare towards Danny, before following after the man.
“We have this NYHAMN model, which can turn into a bed.” Adam pointed to a very ugly, gray couch that was honestly more springs than cushion. Valerie felt her back ache just from looking at it.
“Uh…We already do have a bed, so maybe let’s just focus on the couch part.” She said, mustering her most polite smile.
“That’s fair.” Adam said, leading the way to another living room set. He gestured to the brown couch sitting by the white table in the middle of the area. “This is currently our cheapest option. It doesn’t look like much, but it has great reviews!”
It really didn’t look like much. It actually looked like nothing at all. It was very bulky, like a big piece of block, where someone carved out one corner, so it was flat enough to sit on. Valerie was sure she'd seen Danny build a better couch in minecraft.
“And how much does it cost?” She asked unsure.
“Three hundred and sixty dollars.” The man said with a smile, folding his hands in front of him.
Well, that was at least affordable. It didn’t look like the best couch and frankly didn’t seem very comfortable either, but it wasn’t like they could afford much else if this was the cheapest option.
Sighing, Valerie turned to ask Danny for his opinion, but her heart sank when she noted that he was not there.
Oh no.
“Thank you sir!” She turned to Adam. “I’ll think about this one! I just need to find my boyfriend first.” She said quickly pointing in the direction they came from, which was where she’s last seen Danny.
“Boyfriend? Weren’t you two married?”
Before she could answer that, a random guy, donning the IkeaTM manager t-shirt, approached them. He looked sternly at Adam. “Mr. Hendrickson, I need to call you in for a meeting to discuss your social media presence.”
“Oh, double fuck.” Adam muttered, before catching himself. “I mean, of course, sir! But I’m kind of… in the middle of helping this lady over here.”
The manager guy turned his gaze from the nervous employee to Valerie. He was about to say something, but she cut him off.
“I’m fine! I got the help I needed! I’ll just… go!” she said swiftly turning on her heel and speed walking out of there.
The longer Danny was left unattended, the more likely it was that he would get in trouble.
She scanned the entire store trying to find her dumbass. She quickly looked all over in the bedroom areas, office areas and the bathroom ones. She finally stopped at a fake little kitchen that looked strangely like something out of an 80s movie. Danny would definitely make a malewife joke if he was here right now.
She pulled out her phone, ready to call this idiot when someone put their chin on her shoulder. She flinched and quickly turned around to kick whoever it was in the face, but instead she was greeted with the smiling face of her stupid boyfriend.
“I’m getting you something and you can’t say no.” Saying that, he pulled out a BLÅHAJ from behind his back.
“Danny!” she yelled, irritated.
“Aaaaaand, just so he’s not alone…” Danny continued, showing his other hand which held a DJUNGELSKOG. “I’m getting this one for Cujo.”
“Danny, I am going to severely injure you if you run off like that again.”
“Wouldn’t be the first time.”
She was so ready to punch him. Or actually pull out her guns and shoot him. It wouldn’t hurt him too bad in his human form, but would definitely send a message. The only thing stopping her was the fact that she did not want to end up banned from the store like the Fenton family did.
“Can we PLEASE just focus on getting the couch? Are you able to behave for at least 10 minutes?” she asked instead.
“I’m not a kid, I can behave in a furniture sto-” he stopped suddenly, looking behind her and Valerie had to brace herself for whatever it was that got his attention now. “Oh Ancients look at those LED lights.”
Holding DJUNGELSKOG and BLÅHAJ in one hand, he used the other one to drag her over to the colored strips of LED lights. She tried to dig her heels into the floor to protest, but he could be very strong when he actually let himself be.
“DANNY WE NEED TO GET A COUCH.”
“Okay, but we should get some of these LEDs to put under the couch.” He gestured to the lines of boxes filling out the shelfs, every one of them with a different set of LEDs lights. “Imagine the VIBES.”
She sighed, rubbing her temples in an attempt to calm down. “Danny, baby, we can barely afford a couch.” She said in a softer tone this time.
She wasn't sure if he even registered what she was saying. His eyes were too busy studying all the different colors and lengths of the LED strips the store had available. He picked up one of the boxes and hummed quietly, before turning to look at her.
“Did you find one that you liked?” he asked.
“I found one we can afford. It's not the best, but it should be enough.”
He hummed again, putting away the box he was looking at and picking up another one. Her patience was slowly running out as she watched him scan the box. She was about to ask him to go check out the couch, when he spoke again.
“We should get a corner couch. They’re great for cuddling.”
Was he joking?
“Danny, those are expensive as shit, we cannot afford a corner couch.” She’s seen some of those and all their prices ranged in the two to three thousands dollars.
He shrugged at the box and tucked it under his arm, the one holding the stuffed animals. “That’s where you’re wrong!” He smirked at her, with that stupid shit-eating grin he usually only matched with the white hair and green eyes. “See, recently my parents helped me get this grant for this one research that I really wanted to do. The one with, ah you know… mapping out the nearest points of The Ghost Zone?”
Valerie furrowed her eyebrows. “You already have maps of the Ghost Zone.” And he’s had them for years. She had seen them all herself. So many folders, full of drawings, descriptions and models of different parts of the zone. Definitely going farther than just the nearest points.
“Yeah, I do.”
“Then …what’s the grant for?”
“Currently? Our new corner couch. And these guys.” he said, raising the plushies a bit to indicate what he meant.
What.
“Wait. Let me get this straight.” Valerie said, confusion clear in her voice. “You applied for a grant… that you don’t need… so we have money for a couch?” Her eyes narrowed. “Was Cujo ripping our old couch apart a part of the plan?”
“Val, my dear, I thought we were past that whole calling me an evil mastermind thing. You should know I’m not smart enough to plan this.” he stated matter-of-factly, putting his free hand on his chest. “I didn’t know we were gonna need a couch. It was more for, y’know, personal expenses.”
“Don’t you have to document what you use those on?”
“As long as some form of research comes out of it, they do not care.”
“You-” she was a little bit speechless. Turning her voice to a whisper just in case someone could hear them, she jabbed a finger into his chest. “Did you just steal state money?”
“They steal our money all the timeeeee. Just look at our student loanssss.” he whined.
Okay, he had a point. A very good point at that. It was questionably moral, but on the other hand it wasn’t like he actually stole the money. He had been granted it to do the research. Which he has all ready and done. The state does in the end get what they were promised, they don’t need to know the truth about the exact dates and nature of the research being conducted.
Danny clearly understood he was going to win this argument. He laughed a little, looping his free arm around Valerie’s elbow. “So…cuddle couch?”
She shook her, not being able to stop the fond smile that took over her face. “You’re so stupid. Fine.”
“YES.” He exclaimed, almost dropping the objects he was holding. “I’ve seen a cool green one. And it was also an ektorp. It would be perfect for the ecto RP consisting of me bleeding all over it at some point probably.”
“And Cujo peeing on it.” Valerie added unamused. “We really need to get on that potty training. It’s been years.”
“He does it only when you refuse to cuddle him and you know it.”
“I have homework I need to focus on sometimes.”
He laughed again and started leading her to the couch he was talking about.
“And you are seriously getting the plushies and the LEDs too?” She asked, taking the BLÅHAJ out of his arm.
“Fuck yeah, I’m a responsible adult like that.”
Valerie smiled and shook her head as they approached the corner couch. To be fair it did look very nice with two wide seats on each side. The light green fabric would fit well with the limited decor of their apartment and as she brushed her hand along one of the cushions, she was amazed at how soft the material was. She sat down to check if it was as comfy as it seemed. And Ancients was it the most comfortable couch she has ever sat on.
She looked at the price tag, sitting on the small table that was meant to complete the living room set, right in front of her. Nine hundred ninety-nine dollars, god damn. That still wasn’t so bad for a corner couch though. She did see two-seaters worth more than this after all.
“I feel like I shouldn’t be letting you use grant money on a couch.” She said studying the information under the price tag a bit more. It was in fact an ektorp. A hakebo grå-grön ektorp. Whatever that meant.
“But you also want the cuddle couch?” He sent her the cutest puppy dog eyes, rocking back and forth on his feet and hugging the DJUNGELSKOG and LEDs box tightly.
She looked at him, trying very hard to muster a glare, but she knew he saw the corner of her mouth twitching into a smile.
“YOU DO WANT THE CUDDLE COUCH.”
She sighed defeated and put her head back to rest on the back of the very comfy cushion. “Yes. I do want the cuddle couch.”
“WOOOO! LET’S GO!” Danny screamed excitedly. A few of the other customers looked in his direction, probably thinking that this grown ass adult doing a little victory dance with DJUNGELSKOG was insane. He abruptly stopped in the middle of his silly moves when a serious expression came over his face. “So like… how do we buy it? Do I gotta carry it to check out or?”
Valerie couldn’t hold it in anymore. She started laughing, which quickly turned into a wheeze. The way Danny raised an eyebrow in confusion at her outburst only made her laugh more.
“Come on, I’ve been joking all day and that’s what you laugh at?” He said, smiling brightly and letting out a giggle of his own.
Valerie stood up from the couch and came over to stand by Danny, trying her hardest to contain the laughter. “How about we just find a worker and tell them we want to buy it?” She suggested, gesturing at the couch.
“And would milady want some meatballs after that?” Danny wiggled his eyebrows, the awful Flynn Rider impression making a reappearance.
“Fine, I guess you earned it.” She said, giving him a soft kiss on the cheek, before walking away in the direction of the store front. “But you’re paying for the food too.”
“Oh come on! I’m buying you a cuddle couch! And Blah-hash!” He yelled after her, still smiling.
“I’m pretty sure that’s not how you pronounce it. You have to pay for the meatballs, so the swedes forgive you for this crime.”
“What? No! You can’t make me pay for food, only because I don’t know swedish! I bet you don’t know how to say it either!” he defended, following after her.
“You don’t see me going around and attempting it!”
“That’s so unfair. I love you so much and you do this to me.”
He did end up making her put away the card when she tried paying for the meatballs. Her boyfriend was such a dork. But she still loved him very much, he was her dork after all.
He was also apparently extremely bad at putting together IkeaTM furniture, as Valerie found out the next day, when she came back from school to an absolute mess in their apartment. The couch wasn’t even halfway set up and Danny was laying on the floor defeated , covered in the remains of poor Djungelskog. Cujo was standing over him with the IkeaTM hex key in his mouth, tail wagging happily. It honestly resembled a crime scene and Valerie couldn’t stop herself from taking a picture and setting it as her new phone wallpaper.
Danny confessed to almost losing a bunch of important screws and barely managing to stop Cujo from peeing on one of the armrests when he didn’t pay attention to him. He also managed to phase one of the wooden parts halfway through the wall, which he didn’t notice until Valerie pointed it out to him. How that could possibly happen was a mystery to her.
Thank the Ancients her dad agreed to come over and help them set it up. Otherwise Danny would probably accidentally destroy it.

Dannymay 2024, now with kitty paws!
Prompts from my AU, also in AO3
Day 28: Healing
This was the worst match up for him in a fight. The ghost was fast, aggressive, and stubborn, but the worst part was that it was a dog ghost, and Danny, in his cat form, was being chased around all of Amity Park.
At least the form he gained that day was that of a mix between a cat and a lizard. He was very agile and the scales gave him some kind of protection. The ghost dog was not able to bite him at all but Danny was getting tired.
After rounding on a corner with the ghost dog just about to get him, an ecto-shot landed on the ghost dog’s side, sending it stumbling over the street.
Before the ghost could recover, the energy beam of the thermos captured the ghost.
“You ok dude?” Tucker was examining Danny for any injury.
“Meow” Danny shook his head. Luckily, he was not hurt.
“Good, if there is not any other ghost around, let's go back to my place. We are in a sleepover after all” Sam said.
The three friends were spending the weekend at Sam's house. Beside doing homework, playing video games, and watching horror movies they took advantage of Sam’s parents being away for a rich people event to go out at night to hunt ghosts before going to sleep.
Besides the dog ghost, this has been a relatively calm night. The three teens were ready to go back and relax, but someone saw this downtime as the best opportunity for the hunt.
NYAAA!!
Danny screamed loudly. A powerful ecto-shot burned the whole length of his tail into ash.
“Danny!” Sam and Tucker exclaimed at seeing their friend hurt.
The mystery of their attacker was resolved just then.
“Ha ha! I finally got one of you! I Skulker, the greatest ghost hunter of the Ghost Zone had captured one of the annoying cats” Skulker was gloating from his perch on the roof of a building.
“Meeooooowwwwrrr” Danny was growling at the hunter.
“You, tiny reptile cat, will become part of my collection” Skulker pointed a gun at Danny.
“Hisss” Danny was not happy at all. Being shot on his tail hurt a lot.
Then, in the span of a few seconds, a new tail grew from the stump on his backside. Danny and his friends were surprised by this, though they were glad that the injury was not hurting anymore.
“Huh, I guess you can heal your tail like lizards do” Sam commented.
“Meow” Danny nodded with a serious face. He did not take his eyes away from Skulker.
“The cat heals. This hunt will be great!” Skulker sounded excited.
“You are going to kick his ass, aren't you?” Tucker said after noticing just how angry his friend was.
“Meow, meow” Danny nodded and crouched, ready to destroy Skulker’s dumb suit.
Skulker sensed something wasn't right and prepared his weapons. He had a feeling that this cat wasn't going to be easy to hunt.
“We’ll be behind you” Sam said and got her camera ready.
“Nya” Danny gave her a fanged smirk and jumped upwards, flying at high speeds towards the ghost hunter.
The halfa was going to tear apart Skulker’s mecha-suit piece by piece and then he would have some fun playing with the tiny blob that was Skulker’s true form.

I'm in the last act of the KINDLING audiobook, and I've been absolutely floored by the narrators, performing their own characters as well as each other, making for this intricate, seamless tapestry of voices, handing off the story to each other, one by one by one.
CATHERINE HO anchors the story in Leum's voice, as curt and grumpy as I always imagined her. She's a flawless introduction to the kindling world, invoking all the harshness of it, the jadedness, the frustration, the complication and beauty.
JEANNE SYQUIA plays our general, Amity, to perfection. That haughtiness! That power! (That denial.) Jeanne moves Amity effortlessly between the calculating leader and the frail human and always lands, somehow in both. Her last chapter? LITERAL CHILLS. I'd follow her into battle any day.
As Ket, AMIELYNN ABELLERA *gets* the rhythms of these ghost narrators, *gets* their pacing and musicality--her readings feel exactly the way the narration always felt in my head. (Plus, she takes the lead in voicing Tana, the girl who brought the kindlings together, whose seriousness and determination and brightness she brings to life so well.)
I already shouted out JOY OSMANSKI for knocking me out with a particular excerpt from a particular character, but her delivery of Emara is equally impressive. Thanks to Joy, Emara's chapters are always a party, bubbling over with humor and life.
ALLISON HIROTO's performance as Ben is as delicate as the character is, evoking the same lightness in her voice that Ben has on her feet. I'm in love with the way her reading pulls to the forefront Ben's contradictions and fragility: a killer desperate not to be a killer; a warrior in search of perfection; a fallible, terrified kid.
ERIKA ISHII was our first and only choice for Kanver, and I'm so thrilled they were available! They so perfectly capture Kanver's softness, their dreaminess, and, at the same time, their quiet clear-eyed criticism. Listening to Erika read Kanver *feels* like being in Kanver's head--drifting, drifting, always drawn toward beauty in what can be such an ugly world.
Siddie would be an easy character to dismiss as something of a child, or a clown, but FERDELLE CAPISTRANO makes it impossible to write her off. In her hands, Siddie is naive and stubborn and, yes, childish, but she's also intelligent, diligent, empathetic, and her last chapter, where she at last comprehends the reality of being a kindling, brought me to tears.
Thank you so much to HarperAudio, this incredible cast, and director RAMON DE OCAMPO for bringing such energy and nuance and *life* to these characters and to this story. It's been a pleasure and an honor hearing you read these words!
[Video description: Various shots of jagged mountains and high vistas, moving from sunrise toward sunset, overlaid with a twangy guitar soundtrack and a female voice reading the text, "HarperAudio presents KINDLING by Traci Chee" and "Ahead of you, that vast and jagged border looms--sharp, immense, severe. The fortresses of gods or the gods themselves, at the tail end of summer and still capped with snow. The Candiveras are all that stand between you and the kingdom of Ifrine beyond--the rest of the world beyond. You pause. You kneel. Scratch your dog behind the ears and adjust the tiny silver medal you wear around your neck. If you had to take one last look at your country, you couldn't ask for a better view than this." and one last shot of a horse and rider meandering off into the sunset with the text, "Performed by Catherine Ho, Jeanne Syquia, Amielynn Abellera, Joy Osmanski, Allison Hiroto, Erika Ishii, Ferdelle Capistrano; Directed by Ramon de Ocampo; audiobook available now."]

Be still my beating heart
My second back up truce gift! This is for @timelessdp, so sorry this took so long!
I used this prompt: Phantom wasn’t Danny before the portal accident. He was Amity, younger Brother of Pariah Dark.
I had a ton of fun with this, and I hope to revisit this au at some point to explore more.
Warnings: brief description of injury
“Amity, it is ready.”
The faint sound of ticking alerts Amity to who entered his chambers before smoke whips out of frozen lungs.
“Thank you, Clockwork. With the sarcophagus finished we can finally look towards ending this.”
The Sarcophagus is their last chance, and even then its going to be a long shot. Amity’s brother is strong, but they have all the Ancients and Clockwork on their side.
“Are you sure it will actually work?”
Amity looks to one of his oldest friends, sees the anxiety they’re trying so hard to hide.
“It has to. Pariah has already caused so much destruction and misery across the infinite realms, if we don’t stop him now nothing will.”
Clockworks frown twists as he shifts rapidly between his three forms.
“I admire your confidence Amity, but-”
“I have full faith in your abilities, Timemaster, we will win.”
________________
They lose, badly.
Amity had known his brother was strong, Pariah Dark hadn’t gotten the moniker of ‘butcher’ when they had been alive for nothing. But this, several of the Ancients have been destroyed entirely, and Clockwork had been struck so horribly in the face that Amity thinks he might loose that eye.
Their attack had failed on every level. Pariah had clearly known they were coming, and once the fighting had started any sense of cohesion had left them, every ghost fighting only for itself.
The sword sinks deeper into Amity’s chest. The blade had nearly split his core in two, as is it’s held together by barely a thread.
“Kneel, brother.”
Pariah's voice is like thunder, demanding respect and attention from all.
“Never.”
His own voice quivers like a leaf in a storm even as he fights to look his brother in the eye.
This had been exactly why the plan had been to surprise and overwhelm Pariah, Amity had known in the depths of his core that they wouldn’t be able to beat his brother on an even playing field.
Pariah gestures with hand not wielding the sword, sweeping over the ruined battlefield.
“Look at what your foolishness had wrought, brother. Your ally’s lay decimated around you, and now you have forced me to expedite my plans.”
In an instant the sword is abruptly removed from Amity’s chest cavity, replaced by his brother's hand, using the gaping wound as a steady grip to heave Amity up.
“I should kill you here, traitor. But you will serve me much better by acting as an example.”
The next few seconds are a blur as Pariah strides past his decimated enemies, dragging Amity along like one would a reluctant dog.
It takes Amity a second too long to realize whats happening, but by then it is already too late.
Pariah shoves Amity’s broken body into the Sarcophagus, smile gleaming of the horrified shouts of Amity’s allies.
“I, Pariah Dark, conqueror of all the infinite realms, hereby banish you to earth. May you lay forever stranded as your core rots.”
Amity’s last sight before the door seals is his brother’s eyes, filled with hatred as he is shunted from his home.
He can feel when they pass the threshold and he hits earth-
His core screams, but he is trapped in the same sarcophagus he meant to damn his brother to. Trapped all alone on earth, far from the infinite realms.
His only hope is that the Ancients and clockwork are able to rally and capture Pariah before he destroys everything, but even as his core calls out, nothing answers.
___________________
The next few hundred years past in a disconnected haze.
History tells Amity after the first millennium totally isolated from the infinite reals he should have ceased to exist, but somehow his core has not completely destabilized. In fact, it had healed almost entirely from the grievous wound his brother had inflicted on him.
His only theory is that when Pariah tore a hole in the infinite realms to banish him to earth he had not been able to close the portal entirely behind him. So ectoplasm had been able to leak out in a high enough concentration to slowly heal him.
His body stays trapped, but he finds he is able to reach out with his core to take in the world around him.
It appears that while he had been slumbering humans had build an entire town up around where he is buried.
As more years pass he continues to observe this small town, which he is delighted to discover had somehow named itself Amity Park. he grows attached to the people, watching them grow and learn. And he welcomes every soul buried in his graveyard.
Occasionally a rouge ghost makes its way to earth, drawn to Amity’s home by the ectoplasm leaking from the portal remnants. Luckily as his core repaired itself Amity is able to establish this town as his domain, and even without his full power its laughably easy to scare off any ghosts looking to haunt his town.
Eventually he notices a curious development. Two of his people, so-called scientists who have a fascination with ghosts, begin to tinker extensively with the ambient ecto energy that permeates the town. The Fenton’s, they call themselves.
Amity leaves them to it, something he will come to regret for the rest of his afterlife.
It takes him too long to realize that the elder Fenton’s have built ome kind of machine directly over the tear until Amity’s word suddenly becomes alive.
In an instant he feels a spark alight him anew, fells the power from the infinite realms surge out, looking, begging for a response.
In all his excitement Amity almost misses it, but under the clamor of the realms he hears the faint cry.
At the epicenter of the rip in reality lies a human. The youngest Fenton, whos dreams of space remind Amity when he first explored the realms as a ghostling.
It seems whatever machine the elder fentons have created is attempting to re-tear a hole into the infinite realms, and this little one is in the epicenter. He can feel the buzz of ectoplasm all around and inside the boy, overwhelming his new infant core.
Amity reaches out with his own core to try and stabilize this new ghost, but the sheer power of the portal pulls him inward instead.
He is compressed, the fully developed core of a millenniums old ghost shoved into the body of an infant human child.
He screams. They scream. The infinite realms screams with them.
When he is next aware Amity is collapsed on a cold metal surface. But that isn't right.
The sarcophagus is designed to hold his core in suspension. Amity has not felt anything in millenniums.
“Danny?”
The voice is weak and distorted to Amity’s ears, but something deep inside him surges to life at the sound of that voice.
“I’m fi-ine Sam,” he says without thinking. But he shouldn’t know who this small human child is, shouldn’t recognize this lab and the equipment scattered haphazardly about.
His core yearns for the infinite realms, but under the familiar hum he feels something else. Utterly entwined with his core, is a human heart. Somehow the two organs work together seamlessly to pump both ectoplasm and blood through his veins.
Amity can think of a million curses, a thousand ways to damn the earth he is now trapped on, but all that comes out is a single, heart-and-core-felt,
“Fuck.”

Hey. I got you for the dp oc exchange. I just finished reading all the fics, and I've got all your drawings of them saved. But I have some questions.
What exactly is Sais disability? Please offer as much detail as you can.
My art style is very different from yours, and im having some trouble translating the character design over. Could you describe Sais appearance in as much detail as you can? Also, his personality.
Which people is Sai in contact with at which times? Did he stop interacting with his classmates when he became more popular? Was Spectra only one-off, or is she still his manager in the non-Dan timeline?
Sai has Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome! His joints are hyperextending and hyperflexible. He cannot run much, gets dizzy often, and can barely do shows -- having to sit down after.
Sai has brown hair, yellow specifically in the front. I'd consider his outfits to mostly contain yellow and purple. He always wears a pair of purple headphones. His eyes are more oval than the Danny Phantom style, and his nose is curved, face a bit rounder. He wears a golden cuff around his neck and usually a pair of shorts and a belt with earbuds inside the pocket.
Now for the contacts; Sai is partners with Danny, best friends with Tucker, Sam, Valerie and Star, is close with Paulina and Dash, and his ex is Kwan.
Spectra has always been Sai's manager, being a ghost. She was also Sai's mother's manager, allowing her to create the second generation of idols. Sai's manager overworks their band, creating constant shows for them to work themselves into depressions and constant sress. The band isn't aware of this, and Sai, being both disabled and the lead in the band, is the main source of Spectra's drawing of stress. But when Sai begins to gain hope, and love singing, falling in love with a crowd member who always showed up to her concerts, she decides to move each member away. For Sai, that's Amity Park, Illinois. Sai's bandmates are also sent to other commonly ectoplasm-heavy areas, as Spectra has realized with her assistant Bertrand, can make her more powerful. Sai is distressed by the move. At first, he's grouped in with the A-listers due to his social status, because he's angry and afraid, but the fear bubbles over and makes him get dogged on constantly. He finds himself meeting Team Phantom, getting along with them well. While still being liked by the A-team, Sai is extremely popular, but chooses to sit with his select group of closest friends. He's also painfully, did I mention, head over heels for this random ass guy named Danny. His hair is black, his eyes a piercing blue, and he's pathetically average. Just some normal dude. Sai's worst fear, however, happens to be ghosts. He commonly has nightmares of drowning at the time, and being surrounded by ghosts other nights -- so he is anxious about the ghost rumors, and especially Danny's family and their ghost hunting work. Allegedly, they did more harm than good, but if there were less ghosts around-- why did he even believe in them anyways, again? That would make it better for him. Anyway, after a lot of tension, he gets to be best friends with Danny. Then he gets trapped in a ghost-infested site, Phantom saves him, yadda yadda he peppersprays the poor halfa. Sai apologizes profusely. A while later he gets with Danny, confessing in front of the school, and being upset about the fact that he's popular and Danny isn't-- not wanting Danny to see him as a bad person. Danny accepts, and they go out, but Danny grows more and more anxious about being found out.
Sai runs into him mid-transformation. Instead of freaking out he accepts him.
Yeah thats it.

The Ultimate Enemy 2
Fade in to a shot of a rock surrounded by debris. A cockroach comes in from the left and begins to climb said rock. It twitches its antennae a little. Then it scurries on the back, unseen side of the rock and over some debris of a fallen wall a little farther in to a shot of a rock surrounded by debris. A cockroach comes in from the left and begins to climb said rock. It twitches its antennae a little. Then it scurries on the back, unseen side of the rock and over some debris of a fallen wall a little farther away.
Zoom out and pan up to show more destroyed and fallen buildings, some still standing but in states of disrepair. The whole place looks deserted and desolate save for a small, blue domed force-field in the distance. As it generates itself, lightning strikes many times. Zoom in on the dome.
Fade to a top view of the dome. Inside is a bright, futuristic looking city. There are high-rises and huge man-made canyons within the dome. Surrounding it are many small towers appearing to generate the force field. Zoom in and rotate.
Fade to black. A yellow, flying car is seen passing from in front of the camera and swooping around a futuristic building, on it an electronic sign that reads "Amity Park" in big, white letters.
Pan right and down to more of the city. Three streams of aerial car traffic are going in various directions, with flying cars of varied colors like yellow, orange, Violet, and dark blue. Text is typed onto the screen. In big, white tech letters, it reads "AMITY PARK: THE FUTURE".
Cut to an aerial shot of a skywalk leading to a tall, white building. People walk to and from the place on the bridge. Flying cars pass by underneath the bridge and far over it near the camera. Cut to the top of the blue force field dome. It generates to the apogee point. Some exceptionally tall buildings are seen coming close to it. Pan down to reveal Casper High School, identical in all its over-a-century-old glory, save for the many futuristic buildings behind it. A yellow-orange car is parked with its wheels deployed and its door open vertically. Students hang out on the campus. One girl is running with her dog. The car takes flight and hovers offscreen to the right. From the top-right of the screen, a jet surfboard with an older Valerie, complete with a crew cut, surfs calmly toward the camera. Pan down as she flies offscreen. Two young children, a blonde girl with a small pigtail in the back wearing a pink lycra dress and a young boy with fudgey brown hair wearing a blue jumpsuit and white boots both run up on the sidewalk behind her, waving.
"Hi!" The kids waved at the now older Danny Phantom who was the protector of his hometown.
Cut to Danny, flying past, while looking down and smiling. He salutes with two fingers, then looks forward, flying away from the camera, as he starts zooming faster than before as his ghost legs turn into his ghostly tail he flies away fast.
"Ghost shield tower…" Danny exclaimed.
Cut to the watch. Danny's finger is on it. It's filled with static.
On the watch, we see Mr. Jack Fenton's image pops up on the screen and he sits down at the old fenton lab. He's wearing a uniform, and has long gray hair tied to a ponytail.
"...100 precent operational." Danny told the watch as his father Jack Fenton came on the screen.
"Good job, Daniel. Let's check the last tower and get ba– -" Jack told his son but got cut off by a mysterious young evil girl ghost.
"Dad? Dad?" Danny tried calling for him but there was no answer.
"Hello, old cousin." The mysterious evil girl exclaimed.
"You, again?! I don't care how powerful you are, ghost You can't break through the shield." Danny told her.
"Until today, that is…" Dana answered as she started to scream reallyloud breaking the ghost shield in the process.
The red eyes widen, and a howl rings out. Danny clamps his hands over his ears, wincing. The howl shakes the entire city. We pan across the buildings, seeing people holding their ears and ducking down on a skywalk, windows shattering from the skyscrapers on either side. We see Kwan in his flying car, the windshields of cars around him exploding, then his follows suit. Back on Tower 9, we see Valerie half doubled-over. She gasps as the levels on the tower meter begin to drop rapidly, then the generator on top of the tower explodes. Valerie grabs her jetsled and leaps from the balcony as explosions rattle down the tower, the shockwave knocking the sled out of her grasp. She tumbles down through the smoke, pushing a button on her gauntlet. It activates the sled, triggering purple jets to flare and it zooms toward her, right before she crashes through a cracking window. The window explodes. Wide-eyed, Valerie comes to a stops straddling the jetsled to stare up at the still-smoking shield tower. We pan over to the next tower, which also explodes. Valerie, who ducked behind her arm while offscreen, lowers her arm and gasps in dismay. Zooming out, we see the ring of shield towers explode in a domino chain. The shield dissolves at the generator points and sizzles away, leaving the city exposed. Lightening strikes, and people scream and run in the streets. Emergency bunker entrances with flashing red lights rise out of the streets and people race inside. Above the milling streets, Valerie looks at her watch.
"You like my new power? I call it my ghostly scream." Dana Phantom told him
Scrowling. Danny is about to respond when he is distracted by a tssssew sound overhead. She looks up to see a blazing purple blast coming at her. The impact knocks him out and he falls, coming to a crash-landing in front of the Nasty Burger 2. Bruised, he opens his eyes
"You?" Danny, questioned.
A purple-haloed form swoops down havering above him.
"Yes, me. [We zoom in to the fright Knight arms crossed] And I serve a new master now." Fright Knight told him.
Danny scrambles to his feet. The Fright Knight hauls back and throws another purple crystal blast at him. Scowling, he got up and immediately flew away fast. The blast vaporizing the Nasty Burger 2.
[muttering] Gotta get to Dad…" Danny muttered to himself.
Purple explosions erupt around her as she zips down the street then up a building, the Fright Knight hot on her heels. She arches up through the smoke, then disappears in a burst of speed toward FentonWorks. The Fright Knight forms another purple blast crystal, this one bigger than he is, and flings it. Valerie dodges and it impacts the Ops Center, knocking the array off the top and splitting it open like a dropped watermelon. Danny flew in through the hole, flying down through the house and down into the lab, where red alarm lights were flashing. Mr. Jack is at a console; we see now that he is missing an arm as well. Danny turners back into Danny Fenton and runs to him.
Dad, the Fright Knight's here. Which means She can't be far behind. What do we do? What do we–." Danny wanted to know from his dad.
The ghostly scream rings out again, shaking the lab.
"Danny, run." Jack tld his son.
The red lights shut down, leaving the lab in a green dim, and they both turn to look at the Fenton Portal. The ground splits open, starting at the base of the Portal and zigzagging toward them, green light shining from the fissure, and a dark red-eyed figure bursts up from it. We see her from the back, wearing a white and black jumpsuit with a white cape, green flame blazing around her. She lands on the shattered ground and approaches the Grays on foot. It pans up to show that it is recognizably an older Dani, with the DP logo, flaming white hair, green skin, pointed ears, fangs, and a goatee.
"Hello, Danny." Dana Phantom exclaimed.
Danny gasps at her.
"And goodbye." [Raising a hand she releases an ectoblast.]
Outside, we see FentonWorks explode. We then zoom out to see this scene framed in a glowing ring set with gears. The scene in the ring changes to a wavering shot of Dark Dani
"Now do you understand?" the offscreen asked.
Child Clockwork flies up in front of the screen in his purple hooded cape, Time staff in hand.
"Yes, Dani Phantom grows up to be the most evil female ghost on the planet, named Dana Phantom. [He shifts to adult form. He turns, scrowling.] What do you want me to do about it?" Clockwork exclaimed.
We see a pair of shadowed Observantshovering nearby in high-collared capes, gears turning behind them.
You are the Master of Time, Clockwork. Isn't it obvious?" Observant 1 wanted to know.
"To save the future, [He moves forward into the light, so that We see his entire face is exposed with one huge green eye] Dana Phantom must Perish.
We pan back to the viewscreen, still showing Dana Dani.
-Opening sequence The Ultimate Enemy–
We open on Casper High, then move to the auditorium. Mr. Lancer is on stage at a podium, Danny, Sam, and Tucker sitting in chairs on either side of him.
"Your future is not covered in stone, people, but it may be covered with a No. 2 pencil." Mr. Lancer told the students while holding one up.
Out in the auditorium, Danielle and Samantha are sitting next to each other, Connie right behind them with her crossed arms propped on the back of their seats. Danielle is sitting up and listening instantly whereas Connie and Samantha look bored out of their minds.
"Oh, please." Both Connie and Samantha exclaimed while being bored.
"Quiet, this is important!" Danielle told her two friends as Connie and Samantha stare at her nonplussed, then exchange a look.
"As most of you have probably forgotten, you will be taking the Career Aptitude test. [the letters C.A.T and the words spell out on the projector screen behind him as he speaks] on Saturday. [Brightly] Do well, like like Mr. Fenton, Ms. Manson, and Mr. Foley here [gesturing to Danny, Sam, and Tucker] who got -
– The highest score in the history of the C.A.T. –
[An image of two obnoxiously rich people flinging money around clicked onto the screen, followed by a fancy car, a Mansion strongly resembling Vlad's, and a yacht] Fail like [We pan down to Tucker who is sleeping with his mouth open and drooling] Tucker "Third degree Burns here, who [he wakes up with a start] got the
"lowest" score in the history of the C.A.T., and you will be doomed to a carrer at the Nasty Burger [an image of the broker joint displays on the projector].
[Standing angrily] HeyExcimation point working at a nasty burger takes brains, you know!If those 42 nasty secret herbsand spices in our nasty sauce are overheated, [Advancingtothe edge of this stage] It could cause and explosion that could take out the whole city block!
Cricket strip as the student stare at him, unimpressed.
"Oh who am I kidding. [Slumping off the stage] My life is over/.
[Holding up the answer booklet}"These aren't just answers to the 're the answers to your future. So study." [He whole jumped a briefcase and put the booklet inside, then closes it and handcuff's it to his wrist.] Remember, which of the you want fries with it?"
Mr. Lancer marches off stage, with his briefcase in hand still handcuffed.
"Hey, are you okay girl? Danielle?" Both Samantha, and Connie asked.
Danielle is staring ahead, looking like someone just kicked her puppy. We zoom out to see her on clockworks viewscreen, adult! Clockwork looking at it. He turns awayas the Observants address him.
"What are you waiting for? It's the perfect chance to take her out!" Observant 1 told him.
"That's the problem with you observance. [He switches to child form.] All you do is observe
"You know our oath. To watch –—
[Getting up in his grill] - and never act. Which is why [He switches to his old form] You bring me in to do your dirty work. [He raises his staff and it flashes, the view screen turning to Danielle studying at her kitchen see Clockwork again in his adult form] She turns evil because she's under pressure [He switches to child form] For some test? it's time for a test of my own.
We sink through the view screen to the Fenton is surrounded by books and working through a C.A.T. sample test. She taps The paper with her pencil for a moment, then drops her head into her hands desperately. Danny her cousin, comes up behind her peering over her shoulder with both hands on the On the back of her of the bubbles have been filled in. She frowns squizzically. Smiling a little Dannile lowers her hand to mark her first answer as A.
[Lifting a finger warningly] "Ah." Danny said.
Danielle looks back and she covers her mouth. Frowning and swating a little, Danielle starts to mark B. [Raising a finger again wincing] "But –" Danny stuttered.
Danielle lifts her pencil, then drops her hands.
"Hmm-" Danny exclaimed.
[Flinging her hands in the air, making her cousin Danny flinch back] OK I get it! You're brilliant, I'm stupid. aNd I'll never be able to get as high a score like you did Danny. [Looking down at her empty sample answer sheet] So far I'm not even qualified to scrape the grease off the Nasty Grill. [flicks her pencil away]
[Downcast] "All I want is for you to succeed, Danielle. And doing well on this test can help." Danny assured his cousin. [He props his head on one hand and glares flatly as he takes on a lecturing tone] 'There's are thrre things I've learned in life when taking my C.A.T.:
"Study hard. do your best and -
"Duck!" Danny told her as she did.
Danielle stares at him, thrown for a loop, then the Boomerang clocks her in the back of the head and lands on the table with a clang.
"Ow!" [clutching her head, then picking up the Boomerang.] A Boomerang?" Danielle questioned
Jack and maddie come runnung in. Still rubbing her head, Danielle flings the Boomerang off through the living room doorway.
"I call it the Boooooomerang! [gesturing spookily] It locks in on a ghost's unigue ectosignature and seeks it out whereever it goes." Jack explained his in invention.
We the Boomerang spinning through the living room, and it whacks Danielle in the head again. Maddie catches it, frowning down at the device.
[She and Jack look at the boomerang] "Although why it's keyboard into Danielle is way beyond me." Maddie told herself.
"Whats that Dani? One of these stupid C.A.T. test? I failed that and I don't turn out to be a cat. [looking pleased with herself.
Jack and Maddie trot out of the room. Clenching her fist and growling. Danielle glared at the sample sheet.
"Oh, I give -
"Time out!" Clockwork said as he appeared.
Danielle freezes in the act of sweeping the test and a book off the table. Danny freezes as he begins to sneeze, and a blue-white light flares in midair, turning into a clock hand that sweps a blue disc of light into being. It disapppears and adult clockwork appears in its place with Box Lunch, a small ghost girl in overalls, beret, and pigtails. She appears to be asleep or unconscious.
"Ah. Good. Parents gone. [Switches to child form] She's along with her cousin. [ He flies in a ring around the frozen Danielle and Danny and returns to Box Lunch. Setting his staff down to float in midair beside her, he pulls a medallion on a ribbon, shaped like a gear with the entwines letters CW in the middle, out of his robe

Application Rejected
When Danny adopted Cujo he saw him as a puppy, which was a little sad considering the implications. He always thought Cujo was the only one who had stayed, the only one whose soul had persisted. He thought Cujo was alone.
He was wrong. Not all adult dogs and puppies stayed, of course. But many had. Cujo was simply the only one who decided to return to the world of the living, probably because of his obsession with his toy.
One day Cujo showed him where they were all hiding; Danny knew that those dogs had not stayed for the same reason as Cujo, they probably had a myriad of different reasons, and that was fine.
The problem was that excluding some of the adult dogs (that obviously were fine on their own and didn't care), there were many puppies similar to Cujo running around in need of affection and he couldn't adopt them all (besides, Cujo would definitely get jealous). And while many ghosts agreed to take a couple, it wasn't all of them, so Danny did something extreme.
He held an adoption fair in Amity, which was a smashing success. He just forgot that a lot of people in Amity...were usually traveling, and the ghost puppies would follow.
Then, a few days later when a scowling guy showed up (he obviously wasn't part of the general Amity Park population) and demanded a "bright green" puppy, Danny said no and refused his application. He couldn't trust someone with no knowledge with a ghost dog. Although he did offer him a course to learn about their care.
Damian Wayne was offended with his overall assessment. He was obviously the right person to care for one of those pups. So he set out to prove that to the boy in front of him, without hesitation.

"People usually don't bring their wish written down," Desiree pointed out smuggly.
"I don't want any tricks."
"Oh, you'll get a trick," she floated way too close to him and touched his shoulder. "There's always a trick."
Danny squirmed a bit. Could he really go through with this? Does he need the stars that bad? He rubbed his boney fingers along the sunken outline of his eye. If he can't have Amity, then he needs the stars. He unfolded his note.
Specify "pollution only"
Clear enough to see the stars
Don't say wish until you're sure
Keep to limited area
"I wish, that, everywhere I go, will be free of pollution, so i can see the stars." Danny stammers. No going back now.
"So, you have wished it. So, shall it be!"
Suddenly, black clouds formed at Danny's feet. They swirled around him until he was fully incased in a single puffy cloud, which expanded to envelop Deseree, too. Then, the area around them until her whole lounge was covered. It only stopped once the entire ghost zone, what he could see of it, was completely free of all the green mist that usually filled it. One by one, stars began to reveal themselves. He sniffled. It was the most amazing feeling, like he'd been starving and finally got something to eat. Exept it wasn't his stomach that was starving, it was his, soul? or his mind? Point is, he needed the stars.
"Thank you." He choked back tears.
Desiree didn't answer him. She only stared at the unpolluted sky. It looked just like it did when she lived. Too bad it left with the boy.
The moment Danny got back through the makeshift portal, the same black clouds filled the room and escaped up through the manhole covers. "It wasn't supposed to take all night," He thought, stepping over Dani asleep on the floor like a guard dog. Leaving must not have taken as big a tole on her. In fact, she seemed to thrive in the chaos. Still, he couldn't help but feel selfish. He could have wished for an apartment or something. He took a deep breath. It's oddly fresh for the sewer. He checked his phone for the time, 06:00, early. Well, it's not like he has to go to school. Sleeping late can't really hurt.
Danny jolted up to the sound of sirens blaring. Turns out: Sleeping late can hurt a lot. The sirens stopped almost immediately after they started. But it was too late, he was awake. Over at the kitchen (hotplate on a stack of loose cinderblocks) Dani continued making food so repulsive, only a Fenton could have made it. She had a weird habit of restraining the food before it reanimated to attack. Which just takes all the sport out of cooking. Strangely, it didn't smell too bad.
Floating up to the "ceiling" and popping his invisible head above ground revealed a shocking sight. The street was full of cars, but not one of them was on. Danny floated up further. The higher he got, the more he noticed that everything was off. The lights in every building, not a single car horn was blaring. He couldn't even spot any litter. Even the sky looked like it was a different color. A thought came to him, and he flew in a straight line towards the harbor through multiple big buildings. It was as he expected. The piles of garbage were gone, it was blue now, and, best of all, there was so much life in there. He could clearly see the silhouettes of schools of fish and even a few sharks.
None of this was the kind of pollution he'd had in mind when he made his wish. But... is this supposed to be the trick? Just wait till Sam hears about this. He could just about burst with anticipation. If this is what daytime looks like, the night would be truly spectacular.
It didn't take long to discover that people were not taking this well. Every now and then, he would see a random person start screaming in the street, and almost immediately, their voices disappeared completely.
Danny spent the day relishing in the (newly) fresh air of Blüdhaven. For the first time since they came, there were people at the beach (for non villain battle reasons), it was mostly young kids and pedophiles. Danny held a lot of pedophiles underwater that day. Funny thing, as soon as he pulled them under, they vanished. The people swimming were fine. Can... can a person be pollution?
There’s so many fics where Danny is miffed in Gotham or Metropolis because he can’t see the stars because of the pollution… what if he can change that? After a quick trip to the Ghost Zone and a wish with Desire, any place that Danny is in at night, that city will always be perfectly clear of any pollution, making the stars more visible than it’s been in thousands of years. Danny can now forever always see the stars at night.
The hero of that city, not knowing the cause of this sudden window into a perfect nights sky, is trying to find why this happened to their city.
